Welcoming almost 1.3 million passengers in the 2018/19 financial year, Sunshine Coast Airport is one of the fastest growing, and 14th busiest airport in Australia.

Sunshine Coast Airport Pty Ltd operates and manages Sunshine Coast Airport, the gateway to the Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions, under a 99 year lease from Sunshine Coast Council which commenced in December 2017.

Sunshine Coast Airport is responsible for the safe and secure operation, maintenance, commercial development and strategic planning for the airport.

Sunshine Coast Airport Pty Ltd is a private company ultimately owned by small scale investors through their stake in Australian superannuation funds.

Brett Adams – General Manager People and Performance

Brett joined Sunshine Coast Airport in July 2019 and oversees all people areas of the business. This includes developing leadership excellence and capability, attracting, and retaining quality people, facilitating professional growth and careers, defining and lifting performance, increasing employee engagement, and valuing the benefits of diversity, equity, and inclusion for both Sunshine Coast and Coffs Harbour airports. With more than 20 years’ experience in Human Resources and Organisational Development, Brett has led significant staff growth at Australia Zoo, designed innovative workforce strategies during the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and not-for-profit sector. Brett holds a Bachelor of International Business, an Associate Degree in Liberal Studies, Certificate IV in Workplace Trainer and is on the Board of Advisors for The Creative Collective.

Kylie Ezzy – General Manager Corporate Communications

Kylie has more than 20 years’ experience across a range of disciplines including advocacy, marketing and communications, stakeholder engagement, media relations, market research, events management, human resource management and customer service. Kylie has held senior executive positions in both Local and State Government leading diverse teams that have delivered outcomes which engage and influence, underpinned by her understanding of local community, stakeholders and the strategic business context.

Steve Grant – General Manager Infrastructure and Planning

Steve joined Sunshine Coast Airport in November 2019 as General Manager Infrastructure and Planning where he is responsible for a team of planning and delivery specialists, working together to deliver up to $500m of Aero and Non-Aero infrastructure in accordance with the 20-year master plans for both Sunshine Coast and Coffs Harbour Airports. Steve has more than 25 years’ experience leading teams in the planning and delivery of complex infrastructure as both a contractor and client, working with airports in both the UK and Australia. Previous to this role, Steve spent 6 years at Brisbane Airport, where he successfully delivered more than $150m in terminal expansion projects, as well leading the 2020 BNE Master Plan Program. Prior to that, he spent a decade at Heathrow Airport as both a client and contractor delivering large scale programs of work within the Terminal 5 and Terminal 2 expansion portfolios. Steve is a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management and is a certified Practicing Project Director, and also sits on the AAA (Australian Airports Association) Planning Committee and sits on the Sunshine Coast Branch Committee for UDIA (Urban Development Institute of Australia).

Kate McCreery-Carr – General Manager Operations

In July 2021, Kate was appointed as General Manager Operations of Sunshine Coast Airport. Kate is responsible for the safe and secure operation of all airside, landside and terminal operations, including maintenance and significant capital programs, as well as providing leadership and management to the airport’s operations business in accordance with legislative requirements and corporate objectives. Prior to this, Kate was Chief Operating Officer at Cairns Airport, where she worked for 30 years in total, 15 of those with Cairns Airport Pty. Ltd and before joining Cairns Airport Pty. Ltd., she worked with Air Niugini and Australian Airlines, based at Cairns Airport. Kate is a graduate of the Airport Management Professional Accreditation program, an executive development programme for airport managers worldwide that promotes the adherence to the highest professional standards, covering all functional areas of the airport business. Graduates earn the International Airport Professional (IAP) Designation. Kate has previously held positions with the CQU Regional Engagement Committee and the Cairns Amateurs Committee.

Scott Norris – General Manager Aviation and Commercial

Scott is an experienced executive in the aviation sector with more than fifteen years leading aeronautical and non-aeronautical commercial functions in executive leadership positions within dynamic, fast-growing tier one airports including Auckland and Perth Airports. Most recently Mr Norris was the Vice President Commercial Development and Vice President Strategic Customer Relationships at Vancouver Airport.

Matthew Whyte – Chief Financial Officer

Matthew is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in finance across professional services, public and private businesses. He is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the Airport strategy, in addition to leading the core finance functions of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, tax, treasury, corporate finance, capital investment evaluation and aeronautical pricing. Matthew most recently worked at a national mining services business as the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary.
