With today’s announcement of quarantine-free travel between Australia and New Zealand, we will once again welcome direct flights from Auckland into Sunshine Coast Airport from 28 June. Air New Zealand will offer direct flights three times a week on the service, connecting the wider region as part of the Trans-Tasman travel bubble.

Welcoming more than 80,000 Kiwis into the Sunshine Coast pre-COVID, New Zealand was our region’s biggest source of international travellers. Having been unable to travel for over a year, we look forward to welcoming New Zealanders, back across the ditch just in time for winter.

On the other hand, the return of these flights provide the perfect opportunity for Australians to ditch our temperate climate, and experience a true winter wonderland over in New Zealand. Being the perfect chance to swap a surfboard for a snowboard, flights start from just $281 (bag not included).
