Sunshine Coast Airport has installed new state of the art Rapiscan Systems equipment at the security screening point.
The Airport’s expansion of the Aerospace Precinct unlocks key sites for LifeFlight and Oceanview Helicopters, helping enhance general aviation on the Sunshine Coast. It lays the foundation for further development opportunities that will support our growing community.
The new apron is located on the western end of the main aircraft apron, bringing a range of long term benefits to on-site general aviation (GA) businesses. The project included a new apron, two brand new bays and improved energy efficient lighting to facilitate night time operations.
With an increasing number of inbound and outbound passengers, Sunshine Coast Airport has been experiencing greater demand for car parking. In August 2023, the airport completed construction of a new 540 bay long term car park, located along Friendship Avenue North.
In preparation for the commencement of the terminal expansion project, car rental collection kiosks have been re-located from inside the terminal to a new purpose-built car rental collection centre, a short walk from the terminal.
We have doubled the size of the Northern Arrivals hall, giving passengers a more comfortable welcome with twice the space and greater access to collect their baggage.
